L O U N G E L I Z A R D S A design for the renovation of the existing Havana Bar at Kanuhura Resort, Maldives - into a relaxed exotica beach pavilion called Bondu [which is the Maldivian word for lizard] Design Concept The circular room was to be furnished with large modular day beds covered with rich fabric pillows. Transparent Indian saris are suspended between the daybeds to create a sense of privacy, while orange and red oil lamps add a warm glow. Tribal kilim carpets soften the floor underfoot. Walls and window architraves hand painted in a Jaisalmer motif. Project Team:

The resort is so isolated, that even preparing exterior color schemes can pose logistic problems. So, once back in Singapore, Poole Associates creates the paint job 3 times, using digital imaging software, for the client to select the color. |
