The existing Shang Palace at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore was to be renovated in March 2007. Our team worked for 9 months detailing every aspect of this project, including a full line of  custom light fittings, furniture, and architectural artifacts. 

Based on the novel "The Lost Horizon" by James Hilton written in 1933, [for which the hotel chain takes it's name] the space was designed to give a sense of traditional 30's glamour combined with elegant futurism. The result :  a space that is of the past or the future? or caught somewhere between? Only Conway knows for sure.
